Berlínská zeď byla v letech 1961-1989 fyzickou i ideologickou bariérou, která rozdělila Berlín a symbolizovala studenou válku a rozdělení Evropy.
Východoněmecká vláda ji postavila, aby zabránila emigraci občanů do Západního Německa. Její pád v listopadu 1989 znamenal konec komunismu ve východní Evropě a vedl ke znovusjednocení Německa. Dnes jsou její zbytky rozptýleny po městě, přičemž nejdelším zachovalým úsekem je East Side Gallery. 

Between 1961 and 1989, the Berlin Wall was a physical and ideological barrier that divided Berlin and symbolized the Cold War and the division of Europe. The East German government built it to prevent citizens from emigrating to West Germany. Its fall in November 1989 marked the end of communism in Eastern Europe and led to the reunification of Germany. Today, its remains are scattered throughout the city, with the longest preserved section being the East Side Gallery.
